A thirty-day exercise in pausing, reflecting, appreciating, and giving thanks for simple things.
Silence is golden. Does that count?
Truly, this exercise is to give thanks for simple things. So my three golden gifts are my wedding ring, my wristwatch, and a gold Byzantine necklace. All three are my favorite pieces of jewelry and all three were given to me by my husband.
The word golden is also used in slang to mean something is of good quality or in a good situation, or that someone or something is fully prepared. I am looking forward to a golden evening. One of my daughters and I are going out on the town and another daughter will be joining up with us when she gets off work. Now that’s a gift!
